Nouveaux services par K LINE, MOL NYK et Cosco
Le mois prochain K LINE, MOL NYK et
Cosco vont restructurer leurs services communs entre l’Asie et le Sud-Est de l’Australie dû au retrait de P&O Nedlloyd du consortium. Le nouveau service consistera en deux rotations hebdomadaires. La troisième rotation qui est le service actuellement opéré conjointement avec P&O Nedllloyd cessera en février. Deux navires d’une
capacité de 2.400 Evp vont rejoindre le
service opéré par K Line, MOL et NYK
sur une base hebdomadaire. Un total de
5 porte-conteneurs d’une capacité de
1.700 Evp seront opérés par Cosco
sur le service hebdomadaire Chine-Sud-Est de l’Australie. La première
boucle desservira Yokohama, Nagoya,
Osaka, Pusan, Shanghaï, Nansha, Shekou,
Hong Kong, Melbourne, Sydney,
Brisbane et Yokohama. La seconde
inclut dans sa rotation les ports de Xiamen,
Qingdao, Shanghaï, Ningbo, Sydney,
Melbourne, Brisbane, Hong Kong
et Xiamen.

CMA CGM renforce son service
WAX (West Africa Express) sur
l’axe Asie-Afrique de l’Ouest
avec l’entrée en flotte début janvier
2006 du 1.850 Evp “CMA
CGM Everest”, navire neuf
déployé dans ce service.
Sur son service WAX, CMA CGM opère désormais en propre, sans plus coopérer avec China Shipping,
avec 6 navires d’une capacité
nominale de 1.700/1.850 Evp
déployés sur une rotation :
Shanghai, Ningbo, Fuzhou,
Chiwan, Port Kelang, Durban,
Tema, Lomé, Cotonou, Abidjan,
Colombo, Port Kelang, en fréquence
initiale de 12 jours.
Ce service, développé en complémentarité
du service “ASAF” de
Delmas, offrira des connexions à
partir de Port Kelang, port de
transbordement de CMA CGM.
CMA CGM vient de révéler le nom de son associé pour la création d’un nouveau service transatlantique qui verra le jour à la mi-mars 2006.
Le partenariat va être scellé avec la
compagnie asiatique CSCL (China Shipping
Containerline). Quatre navires d’une
capacité nominale moyenne de 2.500 Evp.
seront déployés à parité par les deux armements.
Les PC escaleront dans les grands
ports nord européens (Le Havre, Anvers,
Rotterdam, Bremerhaven) et ceux de la
côte Est des Etats-Unis (New York, Baltimore,
Norfolk, Charleston).

Shanghai Mingdong (SMCT : Shanghai Mingdong Container Terminal) est un nouveau terminal à conteneurs créé et exploité durant 50 ans par la joint-venture Shanghai
International Port (Group), Company Limited (Spig) et Hutchison
Ports Waigaoqiao Ltd,
filiale du conglomérat Hutchison
Port Holdings (Hph). SMCT,
dotée d’un capital de 411 millions
d’euros (4 mds Yuan) va
exploiter 4 postes à quai. Situé à
50 milles nautiques de l’embouchure
du Yangtze et à 110 milles
nautiques du port de Yangshan,
Shanghai Mingdong s’étend sur
une superficie de 163 ha et est
doté de 12 portiques dont un
équipé du système twin-lift de
40’ capable de soulever 80
tonnes. Sur le terminal 48 portiques
montés sur pneumatiques
évolueront dotés d’une capacité
de levage de 60 tonnes.

Le 11 janvier dernier, l’armateur
japonais Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha,
Ltd. (“K” Line) a annoncé
la livraison par le constructeur
chinois Nacks du "Guangzhou
Highway". D’une capacité de
5.000 unités, ce nouveau navire
transporteur de voitures est le
dernier né d’une série de trois
navires. Premier de la liste, le
“Shanghaï Highway” est entré
en service en août dernier, suivi
du “Tianjin Highway” en
novembre dernier. Tous sont
équipés d’une motorisation
électronique. Les chantiers
Nacks constituent une joint-venture
formée par “K” Line et
China Ocean Shipping
(Group) Co. (Cosco).

L’armement hambourgeois
HAPAG-LLOYD supervisait trois grandes régions : l’Europe, l’Asie et l’Australasie / Etats-Unis. Suite au rachat de
CP SHIP, l’armement canadien Hapag-Lloyd a créé deux nouvelles régions en 2005 : l’Europe du Sud et l’Amérique Latine.
Le Sud de l’Europe comprend les
pays en bordure de Méditerranée,
le Moyen-Orient, les services à
destination de l’Afrique.
La région Amérique Latine
couvre le Mexique et s’étend vers
le Chili et l’Argentine.

United Arab Shipping (UASC) a lancé un nouveau service Far East Mediterranean comportant une rotation : Port Kelang, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Shanghai, Ningbo, Singapour, Port Said, Naples, la Spezia et Barcelone.
UASC a commandé huit porte conteneurs de 6800 evp chacun pour ce nouveau service.
Geest North Sea et DFDS Lys Line ont conclu un accord d’affrètement d’espace sur les services entre la Norvège et Rotterdam. Deux navires de 750 evp chacun vont fournir un service bi hebdomadaire reliant les ports d’Oslo et de Rotterdam. En outre Hambourg sera desservi sur une base hebdomadaire.

Projets d’infrastructures en Roumanie
La Banque européenne
d’investissement (BEI) va
financer à hauteur de 850 millions
d’euros des projets d’infrastructures
en Roumanie. La
construction d’un tronçon
d’autoroute long de 52,1 km
entre Cernavoda et Constanta
bénéficiera d’un prêt de 250 M
EUR, tandis que 300 M EUR
iront à la réhabilitation de la
voie ferrée reliant Curtici à
Simeria. La BEI va également
financer à hauteur de 300 M
EUR les travaux de réhabilitation
d’infrastructures endommagées
par les graves inondations
ayant frappé la Roumanie cet
été. Le 12 janvier, le ministre
des Transports, Gheorghe
Dobre, avait annoncé que la
Banque européenne pour la
reconstruction et le développement
(BERD) finançait pour
sa part des projets d’infrastructures
en Roumanie d’un montant
total de 500 M EUR. Ces
projets portent notamment sur
la construction de routes et la
modernisation de plusieurs
gares et de l’aéroport de Bucarest-
Otopeni.

Nouveaux services ferroviaires
Le port de Rotterdam a mis en service, aujourd’hui, un deuxième train de conteneurs desservant l’Autriche quelques mois à peine après la mise en service du premier train.
Il est opéré par Intercontainer Austria et son partenaire Kombiverkehr. La navette dessert, trois fois par semaine, les terminaux de Eemhaven et Maasvlakte à Rotterdam et Wels près de Linz.
L’opérateur ferroviaire intermodal Van Dieren Maritime va lancer un service, le mois prochain, dédié au transport de conteneurs, semi remorques et caisses mobiles entre Rotterdam, le terminal ferroviaire de Herne en Allemagne et Norrköping en Suède. La filiale Samskip démarrera ce service le 6 février et offrira aussi des services directs vers d’autres terminaux en Suède et en Norvège. Les unités arrivant à Rotterdam seront acheminées par camion à Herne ou transportées par rail sur une base hebdomadaire. Railion et en Suède Green Cargo sont les compagnies ferroviaires qui opèrent les trains de 80 evp.

Nouveaux services aériens
Alitalia Cargo va démarrer cette semaine des services de fret aérien desservant plusieurs aéroports africains par Airbus A300. Un vol hebdomadaire d’une charge de 42 tonnes s’ajoute aux six vols passagers par B767 pour le Lagos. La compagnie a aussi rajouté des escales à Dakar, au Caire et un service bi hebdomadaire vers Tripoli et la Libye.
La compagnie de fret aérien Cargolux va ajouter deux nouvelles destinations en Chine aujourd’hui : Pékin et Xiamen.
Il s’agit de services bi hebdomadaires utilisant le 14ème avion cargo B747-400 du transporteur. Le transporteur a récemment obtenu la cinquième liberté de l’air de Pékin et Xiamen vers Bangkok.

Consortium modifies loops
Japanese container lines MOL, K Line and NYK have restructured their Asia-Australia service following the withdrawal of P&O Nedlloyd from the consortium. From February, the new service will consist of two weekly loops and a slot exchange with Cosco. The current third loop will be discontinued in February. Capacity has been increased on the weekly AU2 service with the addition of two 2,400teu vessels to the three currently in service. A total of 5 containerships with a capacity of 1 700 teu will be operated by Cosco for the weekly service between China and south east Australia. The first rotation calls at Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka, Pusan, Shanghaï, Nansha, Shekou,
Hong Kong, Melbourne, Sydney,
Brisbane et Yokohama. The second rotation calls at Xiamen,
Qingdao, Shanghaï, Ningpo, Sydney,
Melbourne, Brisbane, Hong Kong
and Xiamen.

CMA CGM is strengthening its WAX (West Africa Express ) service as of January 2006 with the new ship "CMA CGM Everest " , 1850 teu .
The French line is no longer in conjunction with China Shipping on its West Africa Express service (WAX), which it is upgrading with the addition of a sixth vessel, the new build CMA CGM Everest. The WAX service links the ports of Shanghai, Ningpo, Foochow, Chiwan, Port Kelang, Durban, Tema, Lomé, Cotonou, Abidjan,
Colombo, Port Kelang with an initial frequency of 12 days.
This service, used in liaison with Delmas’ "ASAF service" offers connection from CMA CGM's main south Asian hub at Port Kelang.
CMA CGM has just announced its partner CSCL (China Shipping Container Line) in a new transatlantic service starting mid-March 2006 , using a fleet of four 2,500 teu vessels, two provided by each carrier. Ports of call will be Le Havre, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Bremerhaven, New York, Baltimore, Norfolk, Charleston.

Shanghai Mingdong’s container terminal operated since its creation 50 years ago by Shanghai International Port ( Group) Company Ltd and Hutchison Ports Waigaoqiao Ltd , subsidiary of Hutchison Port Holdings with a capital of Euros 411 million (Yuan 4 billion) will handle four deepwater container berths. The terminal is located 50 miles from the mouth of the Yangtze and 110 miles from Yangshan port. Shanghai Mingdong covers an area of 402, 6 acres and is equipped with 12 gantry cranes; one of which has a 40 twin lift spreader capable of lifting 80 tonnes. At the terminal 48 cranes mounted on wheels have a lifting capacity of 60 tonnes.

On January 11, Japanese shipowner Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Ltd (K Line) announced the delivery by the Chinese shipbuilder Nacks of the car carrier "Guangzhou Highway".
The 5000 units car carrier is the latest in a series of three carriers. The first ship the "Shanghai Highway" became operational in August 2005 followed by the " Tianjin Highway" in November 2005. They are all equipped with electronic gears. The shipbuilder Nacks is a joint venture operation between K Line and China Ocean Shipping Group Co (Cosco).

Following its acquisition of CP Ships, Hapag-Lloyd is expanding its management organisation from three to five regions, the south Europe region and the Latin America region.
The South Europe region comprises all the countries along the Mediterranean sea and the Middle East and services to Africa.
The Latin America region comprises Mexico all the way to Chile and Argentina.

United Arab Shipping (UASC) has launched a new Far East Mediterranean service with service calls at Port Kelang, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Shanghai, Ningbo, Singapore, Port Said, naples, la Spezia and Barcelona.
UASC has eight 6,800 teu containerships on order for its new routes.
Geest North Sea and DFDS Lys Line have entered into a space charter agreement on services between Norway and Rotterdam. Two 750 teu vessels will provide a twice weekly service linking ports in the Oslo Fjord with Rotterdam. In addition Hamburg will be served southbound on a weekly basis.

Transport infrastructure projects in Romania
The European bank for reconstruction and development (EBRD) will finance Euros 850 m for transport infrastructure projects in Romania. A 52,1 km long motorway between Cernavoda and Constanta will be financed with a loan of Euros 250m.
Euros 300m will help restore the railway between Curtici and Simeria. The EBRD will also finance for Euros 300m the rehabilitation of damaged infrastructure due to heavy flooding last summer in Romania.
Gheorghe Dobre, the Minister of Transport announced on January 11 the ERBD’s involvement in reconstruction and development for infrastructure projects in Romania which will not exceed Euros 500m. Some of the projects will involve building roads, and modernising train stations and the Bucarest-Otopeni airport.

New rail services
The port of Rotterdam is launching its second container train connection with Austria today, just a couple of months after the first. Operated by Intercontainer Austria and its partner Kombiverkehr, the shuttle runs three times a week between the Eemhaven and Maasvlakte terminals in Rotterdam and Wels, near Linz.
Dutch intermodal rail operator Van Dieren Maritime will launch a service next month to transport containers, semi-trailers and swapbodies between Rotterdam the German rail terminal at Herne and Norrköping, Sweden. The Samskip subsidiary begins the operation on 6 February and will offer through services to other terminals in Sweden and Norway. Units arriving in Rotterdam will be trucked to Herne or carried on a weekly rail feeder. Railion and in Sweden Green Cargo will provide traction for the 80teu trains.

New air services
Alitalia Cargo is this week starting Airbus A300 freighter services to several African destinations. A weekly 42-tonne payload flight to Lagos supplements Alitalia’s six weekly B767 passenger services there. It is also adding weekly stops at Dakar, and Cairo and twice weekly services to Tripoli, Libya.
Freighter airline Cargolux will add two new destinations in China today: Beijing and Xiamen. It is introducing twice weekly services, using the carrier’s 14th B747-400 freighter. The carrier has recently gained fifth freedom rights from Beijing and Xiamen to Bangkok.
