Reconfiguration du port de Felixstowe
Le gouvernement britannique vient de donner son accord pour la reconfiguration de la partie Sud du port de Felixstowe afin d’offrir des capacités supplémentaires. Le port de Feliwstowe est géré par Hutchison Ports UK Limited (HPUK).
Felixstowe confortera sa position de premier port du Royaume-Uni pour le trafic conteneurisé.
APL lance un nouveau service
transatlantique baptisé “Atlantic
South Express” (ASX) entre
le Nord Europe et le Sud-Est
des États-Unis. Ce service
offre trois nouvelles escales à
Tilbury, à Londres et Savannah.
La rotation d’ASX dessert
les ports de Zeebrugge, Tilbury,
Bremerhaven, Rotterdam,
Charleston, Savannah et
Miami.
Le rachat de l’opérateur portuaire britannique P&O par l’opérateur de Dubaï DP World est devenu définitif lundi après-midi, la Cour d’appel de Londres ayant refusé d’autoriser l’opérateur américain Eller à faire appel de la décision.
CMA CGM va lancer un service hebdomadaire de la côte ouest de l’Amérique du sud, de l’Amérique Central et du Mexique vers la Californie du sud, avec des solutions pour le fret en conteneur et réfrigéré.
L’opérateur de ligne courte européen Kursiu Linija a démarré un nouveau service reliant Hambourg et Bremerhaven en Allemagne à Ahus dans le sud est de la Suède. Il offrira une escale aussi à Klaipeda en Lituanie.
D’ici deux ans, la collaboration des compagnies maritimes au sein du système des conférences sera de l’histoire ancienne, du moins en Europe.
Le parlement européen et la commission européenne ont accordé une clause crépusculaire (sunset clause) ou un délai de deux ans à l’industrie pour se préparer à l’après 4056 quand la régulation sur l’exemption de la loi de la concurrence sera abolie, soit en 2007, soit en 2008.
L’opérateur norvégien Sea Cargo a déployé un nouveau navire ro ro sur la ligne reliant la Norvège de l’ouest à la Grande Bretagne et à Amsterdam.
Il effectuera deux boucles hebdomadaires par semaine entre Immingham et la Norvège. Les services hollandais offrent la même fréquence. Il peut transporter jusqu’à 65 remorques et 164 conteneurs.
MOL offre une nouvelle escale à Puerto Cabello, au Vénézuela sur sa ligne ro ro de l’Europe vers l’Amérique du sud. Un nouveau navire offre plus d’espace pour la marchandise volumineuse.
MOL a lancé un nouveau service reliant Ho Chi Minh City au Vietnam à Hong Kong.
Depuis peu, MSC-France propose deux relations par barge au lieu d’une chaque semaine entre Rouen et le Havre, le mardi et le vendredi. Ce dispositif permet d’améliorer les temps de passage proposés depuis Rouen.
Nouvelle ligne aérienne entre Abu Dhabi et Djakarta
Le 16 mars, Etihad Airways, la compagnie nationale des Émirats Arabes Unis, lance une ligne entre Abu Dhabi et Djakarta. Assurée par l’un des nouveaux Airbus A330-200 de la compagnie, cette liaison quadrihebdomadaire avec la capitale indonésienne disposera d’une capacité de 200 tonnes de fret dans les deux sens
Le gouvernement gabonais a annoncé vendredi la liquidation de la compagnie aérienne nationale Air Gabon, en proie à de graves difficultés financières, et son remplacement par une nouvelle compagnie privée Air Gabon International détenue détenu à 51% par Royal Air Maroc et à 49% par l’État gabonais. Elle devrait effectuer son premier vol le 1er juin. D’ici là, le gouvernement gabonais s’est engagé à maintenir la continuité de l’exploitation d’Air Gabon. Royal Air Maroc compte déjà une expérience réussie avec sa filiale Air Sénégal International.
Le Cameroun et les Etats-Unis ont signé récemment un accord dit de “ciel ouvert” qui
lève toutes les entraves aux activités des compagnies aériennes camerounaises et américaines
entre leurs deux pays. L’accord va permettre des liaisons directes entre le Cameroun
et les États-Unis sur la base de la 3ème liberté de l’air* .

Si la sûreté des navires et des installations
portuaires a été renforcée, il n’existe pas encore de réglementation couvrant l’intégralité de la chaîne d’approvisionnement pour les transports terrestres.
Le règlement européen proposé lundi par la Commission européenne obligerait les États membres à créer un label de qualité sûreté réservé aux opérateurs respectant des critères communs à toute l’UE.
Ce label serait décerné à tous les opérateurs de la chaîne de transport (couvrant le transport, les activités de préparation, transit et stockage des marchandises) qui le demanderaient. Par exemple, les équipes de transit devraient enregistrer les marchandises manquantes et excédentaires. Ces opérateurs feraient l’objet d’inspections régulières, mais bénéficieraient de facilités lors des contrôles de sûreté. Et une fois obtenu chez eux, leur label serait reconnu dans toute l’UE.
Le département du commerce américain a reconnu l’Ukraine comme un pays à économie de marché ce qui rend ce pays de l’est éligible aux règles commerciales des USA et va l’aider à accéder au statut de membre de l’organisation mondiale du commerce.

Recently MSC-France offers two loops by barge instead of one every week between Rouen and Le Havre on Tuesday and Friday. This deployment improves the transit time to Le Havre from Rouen.
The 16th of March Etihad Airways, the national company of United Arab Emirates are launching a new service between Abu Dhabi and Djakarta. Using one of the company's new Airbuses A330-200 , the four weekly link with the Indonesian capital offers a capacity of 200 tonnes of freight both ways.
The Gabonese government announced Friday the liquidation of its national Air company Air Gabon which is facing severe financial difficulties. It will be replaced by the Air Gabon International company, 51% owned by Royal Air Maroc and 49% by the Gabonese State. Its first flight should be on the 1st of June.
Until then the Gabonese government has committed itself to maintaining continuity in the exploitation of Air Gabon. Royal Air Maroc has been successful with its subsidiary Air Senegal International.
Cameroon and the United States have reached an open skies agreement which removes all barriers to airline activities between both countries.
The agreement will allow direct links between Cameroon and the United States based on the third freedom right*.

If security for ships and port installations has been reinforced there is still no legislation which covers all of the supply chain for land transport.
The European security legislation proposed on Monday by the European commission would oblige member states to create a quality safety label for operators respecting criteria common to the entire EU.
This label would be granted to all the supply chain operators (covering transport, handling, freight forwarding and storage of goods) who ask for it. For example freight forwarding teams should record missing or extra goods. These operators would be monitored regularly but would benefit from easier safety controls. Once obtained at home, their label would be acknowledged by the EU.
The US commerce department has designated Ukraine as a market economy, making the eastern European country subject to the full scope of US trade law and helping clear the way for WTO membership.
